Anthony David Benavidez (born December 17, 1996) is an American professional boxer who has held world championships in two weight classes. He has held the World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight title (Regular version) since February 2025 and the World Boxing Council (WBC) light heavyweight title since April 2025. Previously, he held the WBC super middleweight title twice between 2017 and 2020.
Claiming his first world title at 20 years, eight months, three weeks and one day old, Benavidez holds the record as the youngest super middleweight world champion in history.
Benavidez was born to a Mexican father and an Ecuadorian mother. His older brother, José Benavidez Jr., is also a professional boxer who held the World Boxing Association (WBA) interim welterweight title. Both brothers are trained by their father. When he was 15, Benavidez's weight ballooned to 250 pounds, as he struggled with dieting and discipline.
